When Last Train Home was just getting rolling in Washington DC in the spring of 2007, IOTA was one of the first places they played. It was a small club in Arlington, VA, that hadn't been open too long, and LTH was a small band eager to play a Tuesday night. Over the years IOTA grew from one storefront to three, and LTH grew as well, sometimes filling the stage with as many as fourteen people, up from the five who played IOTA that first time. Soon LTH was playing IOTA on Fridays and Saturdays, then playing entire weekends there every two months: Friday night, Saturday night, and a Sunday all-ages matinee.
Even though the core of the band has moved to Nashville, LTH remains the de facto house band of IOTA (where they play every year on Dec. 31 as well as all those weekends). After ten years of playing IOTA, it was time to record those legendarily raucous affairs. On April 13 & 14, 2007, the camera crew and recording engineers descended on the club and this 100 minute DVD is the result. It captures the magic that is a Last Train Home weekend at IOTA. If you're one of those who feels that the band's CDs don't quite capture its justly legendary live shows, this DVD is for you.
